Class C (ex-750 Formula), cars are currently the most competitive and probably the cheapest to buy and run. Cars for restoration have been available from approximately £2,000, race ready cars around £3,000 and front running cars from £4,000.
A class C car uses a standard camshaft which on a properly sorted car ensures reliability. Racing tyres can last four seasons of racing and when a set of 4 part-used slicks for replacement are available for just £100 - that cheap racing. Help is at hand for any first-time racers from mentors who can advise on the ARDS test, as well as finding and preparing a car.
